About Us
Korczynski's is a family owned and operated business. Richard and
wife Sara started their photo related careers thirty years ago.
Since then, they've been joined by three of their four children,
in the operation of their photo lab and portrait studio. Richard
has retired from the portrait portion of the studio and now travels,
photographs and does art shows across the country. Sara, his traveling
companion and assistant at arts and crafts shows also does the touch-
up on the studio work. Daughter Veronica and youngest son Patrick
do the people photography, including studio, sports, schools and
special events. Richard Ivan the oldest son, does
the computer generated mats for the single and multiple opening
selections. He also travels, doing arts and craft shows allowing
his parents to finally travel together. The only Korczynski off
spring not involved in the business is daughter Karen, a graduate
of Texas A & M who is a certified public accountant in Houston,
Texas.
The six full-time and four part -time employees that aren't Korczynski
family members are instrumental in the daily tasks of matting, printing,
and framing of the scenic, photographic art of Richard Korczynski's
and of Veronica and Patrick's studio and off-location work. Computers
and the technical knowledge they involve are a regular part of an
average work day.
The photo lab was added to the framing and portrait business about
twelve years ago. Currently there is a black and white lab and a
full color photo lab, including a digital system. The Korczynski
family felt that the best way to achieve quality work in an ever
changing market was to invest in the latest equipment. This also
allows for the greatest degree of quality control and immediate
production of photographic works.
The photo lab also does custom printing for the general public,
especially those who want greater quality reproductions of their
negatives. Copying and restoration of old photos is yet another
speciality of Korczynski's. Special attention is given to color
balancing and cropping of each photo. The best archival papers are
used, even on the small, standard sized prints. In reality, a custom
print is the ordinary at Korczynski's.
The family and employees of Korcznynski's take pride in the photographic
works they create and produce. They are always ready to assist and
inform customers on becoming better at the shots they take or want
reproduced.
